The interest of the child

Children assume their parents will stay together throughout their lives. Children, who are confronted with their parents' divorce, might be angry with their parents, feel guilty, experience separation anxiety, frustration or feelings of insecurity about their future. Proper support for the children and their parents, whether or not with the help of professionals, before, during and after divorce proceedings is a must. If children have questions about their parents' divorce, they can speak to Kim-Meijer. If the children and/or their parents would like to speak to a counsellor during or after the divorce, Kim-Meijer can refer the children and their parents to professional counsellors.
